Business Development Strategist

PBG Consulting (PBG) is currently seeking a Business Development Strategist. PBG is a leading small business provider specializing in a broad array of Program Management, Operations, and Information Technology services to domestic and international federal, state, local, commercial, and nonprofit organizations. This position requires strong persuasive communication skills, negotiation strategies, and building professional relationships with potential clients. This position will be at PBG’s office in McLean, VA.

Exempt in accordance to Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop key relationships across multiple Federal Agencies

  • Apply demonstrated success as a relationship builder with the customers and partners

  • Leverage established industry relationships to identify new opportunities

  • Qualify prospective opportunities

  • Develop win strategy to formulate an integrated business development and capture approach

  • Manage, track and capture business development pipeline

  • Develop, execute Business Development, Capture and Growth plans

  • Build business relationships with current and potential clients, converting them into business opportunities.

  • Identify and propose potential business relationships by contacting potential partners; discovering and exploring opportunities.

  • Respond to clients or prospective clients RFPs, RFQs, RFIs

  • Research and cultivate an accurate perception of the organization’s mission and goals

  • Create informative presentations; Presenting and delivering information to potential clients at client meetings, industry exhibits, and conferences.

  • Collaborate with leadership to close new business deals by coordinating requirements; developing and negotiating contracts; integrating contract requirements with business operations.

  • The Ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related field, and a minimum 10 years of IT Business Development with US Federal Government Contracts, working with contracting officials, and prime contractors

  • Proven track record of winning in Federal agencies - by developing relationships and expertise in areas of capture, assessing win probability, developing capture strategy and building winning partnerships

  • Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently

  • Superior time management and organizational skills.

  • In-depth knowledge of the industry and current events.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; the ability to call, connect and interact with potential customers; able to demonstrate patience and enthusiasm while communicating with potential clients.

  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel).

  • Team player with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Superior interpersonal skills including courtesy, professionalism, and a cooperative attitude.
